LAW BROTHERS CHINESE PERFORMING ARTS INTERNATIONALThe troupe belonging to Law Brothers Chinese Performing Arts International (dba Sight, Sound & Action) has many dancers, martial artists and acrobats on a full-time basis. The performers are all hand-picked from dance schools and special training programs all over the China in order to train them into professionals suitable for carrying the mission of Action-Musicals. The privately-owned performing arts company is unique in China: it owns its own intellectual content, it owns its own large group of performers, and it owns the spectacular The Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts. The latter allows the company to launch shows built in China for international exhibition with unprecedented efficiency and expertise. Sight, Sound & Action has released eight Action-Musicals to date including Of Heaven & Earth, Heartbeat, Terracotta Warriors, Tang Concubines, Phoenixia, Senses, Mad Cow's Rite of Spring, and Monkey King. Monkey King made its world-premiere during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games as part of Sight, Sound & Action's Action-Musical Festival. Since 2002, Sight, Sound & Action has staged more than five hundred performances of its Action-Musicals world-wide and has received gratifying accolade and recognition. The show Tang Concubines won Toronto Dora Awards in 2006 for Best Choreography and Best Costume Design. Terracotta Warriors won 2007 International Performance Award from China's Association of Performing Arts. |
